Avalon Jack's Moonlighter channels the Art of the Reveal
Release date: 29 October 2025
Avalon Jack launches her first original song Moonlighter, a sleek blend of swing and pop that explores themes of secret identity and creative expression.
Moonlighter follows the story of a 9-to-5 city office worker who moonlights as a burlesque dancer- an escapist anthem of double lives and liberation.
Recorded in Perth, Western Australia, Moonlighter draws from vintage club aesthetics as Avalon’s expressive vocals glide over walking bass, rhythm guitar, lush harmonies and a brass section featuring a solo played on a 1934 Selmer tenor saxaphone.
Moonlighter was arranged and produced by composer and keyboardist Richard Braham who has a strong connection with the UK having worked in the 1990s as a keyboardist with performers such as Wayne Sleep, Bonnie Langford, Kim Criswell, Eurovision winner Dana, Johnny Tudor, Jeff Hooper and others. He has also performed with American artists such as Ray Charles and Jeff Harner and been involved in songwriting projects with UK guitarist Alan Ross and Sound Engineer Dave Clews.
Moonlighter follows Avalon Jack’s debut - a remake of Peggy Lee’s ‘Fever’ with more tracks slated for release in 2026.

Fever
Release date: 11 October 2024
Avalon's debut single "Fever' rekindles a new romance with an old flame through a fresh remake of the 1950s hit popularised by Peggy Lee.
Her rendition of Fever is reimagined with a contemporary cinematic opening followed by an energetic driving pop band arrangement with orchestral strings, brass section and grooving latin percussion.
iTunes reviews describe her rendition as both modern and timeless.
“I got chills up my spine in a good way. Wow, what a beautifully powerful rendition of a classic. This has the vibe of a late-night club with a great band. What a stunning debut.”

About Avalon
Named after Bryan Ferry’s Roxy Music classic, Australian singer‑songwriter Avalon Jack is a retro romantic singer, reimagining the sounds and styles of the past into the present.
With an alto voice of smooth smoke, she appeals to fans who love the vocal stylings of Amy Winehouse, Lana Del Rey, Duffy, Julie London, Sade, and Diana Krall.
Blending nostalgia with something new, Avalon’s original music created in collaboration with producer Richard Braham, infuses pop and swing . Her next release will continue the story in 2026.
